Snap XMP Online allows you to create and send email invitations and reminders to a list of participants. Snap XMP Online can send out both plain text and HTML email invitations. With HTML emails, you can insert links, styles and HTML code into the emails. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This worksheet describes how to insert an image into an HTML email invitation and then link it to a website. It assumes that you have already set up the survey and it is available in Snap XMP Online. If the image is already on the internet, you can insert a link to the image. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1: Create an email invitation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\n The invitations are the templates used to create the emails inviting participants to complete the questionnaire. They can be viewed and edited in the Invitations<\/strong> section of the Participants<\/strong> menu. Invitations can only be created once the participant details have been uploaded.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. In Snap XMP Online, open the questionnaire and navigate to the\u00a0Collect<\/strong>\u00a0section. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. \n Select the Participants<\/strong> side menu. The Overview<\/strong> is selected by default.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. \n Click on the Invitations<\/strong> menu item to view the invitations.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    1. \n The Invitations<\/strong> are displayed in the overview area.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. \n Click the Add Invitation<\/strong> button. This displays the Add invitation<\/strong> dialog where you can create your invitation or reminder. The image can be added to the email from this dialog.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      <\/a>Step 2: Inserting the image in the email<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      <\/a>\n You can insert any image that is already on the Internet via its URL.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. \n Create or find the graphic that you want to use in your email. Check that it is a suitable size and resolution for an email. The supported image formats are png, gif or jpg format. \n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. When editing the email message in\u00a0Snap XMP Online<\/strong>\u00a0click in the email at the place where the graphic will go and then click the insert image button\u00a0 \u00a0on the toolbar. This opens the\u00a0Insert image<\/strong>\u00a0dialog. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        1. \n Enter the URL of the image in the Web address<\/strong> box.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. \n Enter the text that describes the image in the Alternate text<\/strong> field. This will be displayed if the image is not downloaded in the email.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        3. \n Leave the Width <\/strong>and Height <\/strong>boxes blank.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        4. \n Click Insert<\/strong> to insert your image.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        5. \n Leave the Add invitation dialog open to insert the link.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          Step 3: Adding a link to your image<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          \n You can create a link so that your participant can click on the image and easily go to a given website.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          1. \n In the Add invitation<\/strong> dialog select the image that you wish to add the link to.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          2. \n Click the link button \n \"Insert\n . This opens the Insert hyperlink<\/strong> dialog.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            1. \n Enter the URL that you wish to link to as the address.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            2. \n In Text, enter the text you would like to describe the hyperlink.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            3. \n Enter the ToolTip<\/strong> text that will appear when the respondent hovers over the image.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            4. \n Click Insert<\/strong> to create the hyperlink.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            5. \n Click Save<\/strong> in the Add invitation dialog to save the email invitation. The new invitation is shown in the list of invitations.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              <\/a>Step 4: Test the email <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

              \n Before you send the email invitations to your participants you can check the format of the invitations by using the test functionality.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              1. \n Click the Test<\/strong> button.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                1. \n This displays the Test invitation<\/strong> dialog. You will need to enter an email address that you have access to so that you can view the email and check that the format and seeding are correct.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                  1. \n Click Send test email<\/strong>. This will send a test email invitation to the test email address.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  2. \n When the email arrives check that the format is as you expected. The email will substitute one of the participants in your list to test the invitation seeding is correct.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
