You can create chart styles that reflect your organization\u2019s branding, bringing a consistent look to your analysis and reports. Snap XMP Desktop provides a large number of predefined chart styles that you can use as supplied or as the basis for a new style. Some of these chart styles change the layout, background and colours, whereas others change only the colours. The supplied chart styles that only change the colour scheme start with the word Color. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n  This tutorial shows how to apply a new colour scheme to an existing chart, how to change the colour for individual chart categories, and how to save your custom chart style to use again.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"post-6645-sec1\"><\/a>Step 1: Apply a predefined colour scheme<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\n  In this example, a new colour scheme is applied to a horizontal bar chart of responses to a question grid.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>   On the Snap XMP Desktop toolbar, click\u00a0<strong>Analysis Chart<\/strong>    <img decoding=\"async\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" class=\"wp-image-6646\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/analysischarticon-png-1.png\" alt=\"AnalysisChartIcon.png\">    to create a new chart. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n  In&nbsp;the <strong>Style<\/strong> list, select <strong>Horizontal Stacked Bar Percent Transposed<\/strong>.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n  In the <strong>Analysis<\/strong> field, enter the grid questions.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n  Select the options <strong>Analysis Percents&nbsp;<\/strong>and&nbsp;<strong>Transpose<\/strong>.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"504\" height=\"211\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/analysisdefn1a-png-1.png\" alt=\"AnalysisDefn1a.png\" class=\"wp-image-6647\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/analysisdefn1a-png-1.png 504w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/analysisdefn1a-png-1-300x126.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 504px) 100vw, 504px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"5\">\n<li>\n  Click <strong>Apply<\/strong>. Your chart will now look like this:\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"647\" height=\"504\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/analysischart2-png.png\" alt=\"AnalysisChart2.PNG\" class=\"wp-image-6650\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/analysischart2-png.png 647w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/analysischart2-png-300x234.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 647px) 100vw, 647px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\n  This example uses a 5 point scale; however there are colour schemes specifically designed for horizontal bar charts with 3 or 7 points, on both a positive to negative, and a negative to positive scale. There are black and white styles designed specifically for print, and styles with colours replicating those found in various versions of Excel. Colour styles can be applied to any chart, not just horizontal bar charts.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a id=\"post-6645-sec2\"><\/a>Step 2: Customise individual category colours<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\n  Category colours for any type of chart can be easily changed. In this example, the same colour style, <strong>Color \u2013 5 Point Red to Green Labelled Stacked,<\/strong> is applied to a 4 point scale, which also includes a \u2018Don\u2019t Know\u2019 option. In this context, the \u2018traffic light\u2019 colour labelling would be misleading. Changing the <strong>Don\u2019t Know<\/strong> category colour from green to grey can show that this category is not included in the ratings. The same steps can be followed to change category colours in any style of chart.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\n  Double-click the area of the chart you would like to change, in this case the <strong>Don\u2019t Know<\/strong> category. This opens the Chart Designer.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"215\" height=\"233\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/analysischart3a-png.png\" alt=\"AnalysisChart3a.png\" class=\"wp-image-6651\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\">\n<li>\n  The Chart Designer contains a number of options to change the appearance and content of your chart. Select <strong>Datapoint Defaults<\/strong> then select a new colour from the <strong>Fill<\/strong> section:\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"567\" height=\"304\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/chartdesigner1-png.png\" alt=\"ChartDesigner1.png\" class=\"wp-image-6652\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/chartdesigner1-png.png 567w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/chartdesigner1-png-300x161.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 567px) 100vw, 567px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\">\n<li>   Click <strong>OK<\/strong> to save the changes. You can either save the colour scheme, enabling you to apply the same colours to another chart in the future, or you can save the chart style including layout, background and colour scheme.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\n  Right-click anywhere in the chart area and select <strong>Save Style<\/strong>. This opens the <strong>Save Style As<\/strong> dialog.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n  Choose a folder location and enter a file name for the chart style.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In <strong>Style parts<\/strong>, select the parts of the custom style to include.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\n      To save just the colour scheme, select <strong>Series<\/strong> and clear <strong>Layout<\/strong> and <strong>Background<\/strong>\n    <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n      To save the complete chart style, select <strong>Layout<\/strong>, <strong>Background<\/strong> and <strong>Series<\/strong>\n    <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"469\" height=\"88\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/saveas1-png.png\" alt=\"SaveAs1.png\" class=\"wp-image-6654\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/saveas1-png.png 469w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/saveas1-png-300x56.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 469px) 100vw, 469px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\">\n<li>\n  Click <strong>Save<\/strong> to finish.
