\n This tutorial shows you how to make a question interactive and more engaging by transforming question answers into clickable images.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Snap XMP Desktop includes predefined images that you can use in your surveys, these are called Map Controls. Snap Surveys also provides a range of rating scales<\/a> that you can download and use. This tutorial shows how to add a map control to your survey. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1: Add a question to your survey<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\n This section shows how to add a single question as a Map Control, you can also use multiple-response questions.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. \n In the Survey Overview window, open your survey.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. \n Click New Question<\/strong> \n \"NewIcon.png\"\n and set the question style as Single Choice<\/strong>. This adds a new Single Choice question.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    1. \n Enter your questionnaire text, in this example \u201cOverall, how satisfied are you with your visit to the mall?\u201d\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. \n And the text for the answers, Very Satisfied, Satisfied, Neither satisfied nor dissatisfied, Dissatisfied and Very dissatisfied.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Step 2: Add the map control<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      \n The question is converted to a Map Control using the Show<\/strong> toolbar topic. You can then set up your Map Control using the Map Control Editor.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. \n Select the question you want to convert to a Map Control\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. \n Choose the Show<\/strong> topic and select As Map Control<\/strong> then click the Show<\/strong> checkbox.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. \n Double-click the grey area or click the Map control<\/strong> button on the toolbar to open the Map Control Editor.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. \n Select File | Load Map Control.<\/strong>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      5. \n For this example, double click the \u2018Lrg 5 Point Emoji Pos to Neg.isf\u2019 file.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        1. \n Click the Preview<\/strong> tab at the base of the Map Control Editor.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          1. \n Click on each smiley face in turn to check it behaves as you would expect (you are able to see the code label in the hover text).\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          2. \n Click OK<\/strong> to save the Map Control and return to the questionnaire.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          3. Click Save \"SaveIcon.png\" to save the questionnaire. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
          4. Once the questionnaire is ready you can publish it and preview in Snap XMP Desktop or Snap XMP Online to test the question behaves as required. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
