There are a number of functions available to help make changes to the data responses including editing an individual response, make changes to the data using bulk changes, and deleting a response.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Editing an individual response<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\n  You can change the responses of a completed questionnaire, for example, to correct spelling.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>   Click    <img decoding=\"async\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/dataentryicon-png-4.png\" class=\"wp-image-5915\" alt=\"DataEntryIcon.png\">    to display the <strong>Data Entry<\/strong> window for the current survey. <\/li><li>   Click    <img decoding=\"async\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/questmodeicon-png.png\" class=\"wp-image-5916\" alt=\"QuestModeIcon.png\">   ,    <img decoding=\"async\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/interviewmodeicon-png.png\" class=\"wp-image-5917\" alt=\"InterviewModeIcon.png\">    or    <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"26\" height=\"27\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/promptedmodeicon-png.png\" class=\"wp-image-5918\" alt=\"PromptedModeIcon.png\">    to display the data in the way you wish. <\/li><li>   Scroll to or click on the relevant question and type in the new answer. <\/li><li> If you need to make changes to a selection of responses, you can search for responses using a filter. <\/li><li> Click    <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/saveicon-png-3.png\" class=\"wp-image-5919\" alt=\"SaveIcon.png\">    to keep the changes. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"bulk-changes\"><a id=\"post-5914-_Toc33623617\"><\/a>Making bulk changes to the responses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\n  The <strong>Bulk Changes<\/strong> option allows you to change a number of questionnaires in exactly the same way. This makes changes directly to the data file where the responses are stored. It is recommended that you back up the survey before making bulk changes.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n  An example is to make a bulk change to replace all <strong>Don&#8217;t know<\/strong> answers to grid questions to <strong>No Reply<\/strong>, in order to present reports.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>\n  Archive the survey prior to making the bulk changes.\n<\/li><li>\n  Open the survey in the <strong>Data Entry<\/strong> window.\n<\/li><li>\n  Click \n  <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/runicon-png.png\" class=\"wp-image-5920\" alt=\"RunIcon.png\">\n   on the Data Entry toolbar to display the Bulk Changes dialog.\n<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"409\" height=\"339\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/bulkchanges-png.png\" alt=\"BulkChanges.PNG\" class=\"wp-image-5921\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/bulkchanges-png.png 409w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/bulkchanges-png-300x249.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 409px) 100vw, 409px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\"><li>\n  In <strong>Filter<\/strong>, enter the filter selection, such as Q6a=5 which filters all responses where Q6a is set to Don\u2019t Know.\n<\/li><li>\n  In <strong>Variable<\/strong>, enter the variable that is updated in the bulk change. The fields in the Change Details section become enabled depending on the type of variable entered.\n<\/li><li>\n  In <strong>Change Type<\/strong>, select the type of change that will be made to the variable data. The Change Type for a closed question where the respondent selects from a selection of answers can be Clear response, Set response, Remove code, Replace code. In this example Clear response is selected. There are options available for the type of text search.
