<\/a>\n Often you would like to ask the participants of your survey to rank a number of options in a given order. A grid question can be used to achieve this by setting the Rating Check property. This property ensures participants answer the question with one ranking in each aspect or row.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a><\/a>Step 1: Adding the rated grid question<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. \n Open the questionnaire in the Questionnaire window.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. \n Click New Question<\/strong> \n \"NewIcon.png\"\n to create the new question that will be used for rating.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. \n Select Grid First<\/strong> in the style list.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. \n Enter the question text \u201cPlease rate the following modes of transport in order of frequency of use\u201d. \n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. \n Press Tab<\/strong> and type 1 as the first code label then press Tab<\/strong> again to create a new code label and repeat until you have 5 code labels from 1 to 5.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. \n Press the down arrow to enter the text \u201cFoot\u201d in the grid label\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. \n Press Ctrl<\/strong>+Enter<\/strong> to create a new row in the grid. This has the style Grid Next. Enter the text for the grid label. Repeat the process for each row required.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      <\/a><\/a>Step 2: Setting the Rating Check property<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      1. \n Select the rated grid question then click Variable Properties <\/strong>\n \"VariablePropsIcon.png\"\n to open the Variable Properties<\/strong> dialog.\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. \n In the Rating Check<\/strong> property select Yes<\/strong> then click OK<\/strong>.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          The participant will only be able to select one choice in each rating or column of the rating grid question when they are completing the questionnaire. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
