The publishing process creates web pages that run a survey in a web browser. When the <strong>Collect<\/strong> tab is selected the <strong>Overview<\/strong> is shown by default. This shows the status of the survey and is where you publish the survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Click the <strong>Collect<\/strong> tab and go to the <strong>Overview<\/strong> section.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>Publish current version<\/strong> button to publish your survey.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"741\" height=\"256\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/FirstPublish.png\" alt=\"Publish current version button\" class=\"wp-image-5230\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/FirstPublish.png 741w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/FirstPublish-300x104.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 741px) 100vw, 741px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\">\n<li>You will be asked to confirm that you want to publish. Click <strong>OK<\/strong> to publish the survey.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>When you have published your survey the <strong>Overview<\/strong> now displays further information with sections for<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Overview<\/strong> displays the current survey status.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Paper Interviews<\/strong> contains a PDF download.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Web Interviews <\/strong>shows the details for online interviewing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"565\" height=\"593\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/CollectTabOverview.png\" alt=\"Collect tab overview for a published survey\" class=\"wp-image-5229\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/CollectTabOverview.png 565w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/CollectTabOverview-286x300.png 286w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 565px) 100vw, 565px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Launching web interviews<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Changing the Interview URL destination<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When you publish the questionnaire, Snap XMP Online creates an <strong>Interview URL<\/strong> that respondents use to complete the questionnaire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The last section of the <strong>Interview URL<\/strong> can be changed to a more meaningful name, provided the URL is not already in use. You should change the URL before you start interviewing so that all the respondents are using the same URL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>From the <strong>Collect<\/strong> section navigate to the <strong>Settings <\/strong>side menu<strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll down to the<strong> Web Interviews <\/strong>heading, if necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the Interview URL, click on <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"55\" height=\"42\" class=\"wp-image-5233\" style=\"width: 55px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image027.png\" alt=\"Edit Interview URL icon\">&nbsp;to edit the URL.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm that you want to change the URL.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The last section of the URL becomes editable.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"657\" height=\"47\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/InterviewURL.png\" alt=\"Edit the Interview URL\" class=\"wp-image-5231\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/InterviewURL.png 657w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/InterviewURL-300x21.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 657px) 100vw, 657px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"6\">\n<li>Enter the new text in the text box and click <strong>Save.<\/strong> The example below shows the new URL with the end section changed to \u201cconference\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"551\" height=\"80\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image033.png\" alt=\"Updated Interview URL\" class=\"wp-image-5235\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image033.png 551w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image033-300x44.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 551px) 100vw, 551px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Previewing the published survey<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Previewing the published questionnaire allows you to check how the questionnaire appears in the web browser, enter a number of test responses and try out the routing and validation. These test responses will not be saved or affect the survey data responses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can test the published survey<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>prior to starting interviewing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>after interviewing has started when the survey is live<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>From the <strong>Collect<\/strong> section navigate to the <strong>Settings <\/strong>side menu<strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll down to the<strong> Web Interviews <\/strong>heading, if necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>Launch preview<\/strong> button. This opens the questionnaire in a new web browser tab.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"483\" height=\"248\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image035.png\" alt=\"Launch the preview\" class=\"wp-image-5236\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image035.png 483w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image035-300x154.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 483px) 100vw, 483px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\" start=\"4\">\n<li>This starts with a notice that this is a survey preview and responses entered in the preview will not be saved and will not affect the survey results.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"710\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image037.png\" alt=\"Survey preview message\" class=\"wp-image-5237\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image037.png 710w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image037-300x158.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 710px) 100vw, 710px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\" start=\"5\">\n<li>Click the message<strong>\u201d I understand \u2013 start the preview\u201d<\/strong> to proceed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The preview starts the currently published questionnaire and you can enter some test responses to check your questionnaire.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you need to make any changes, you can update the questionnaire and publish it again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using the QR Link<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can download a QR code to access the questionnaire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>From the <strong>Collect<\/strong> section navigate to the <strong>Settings <\/strong>side menu<strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll down to the<strong> Web Interviews <\/strong>heading, if necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the QR link to download a PNG file containing the QR code.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"483\" height=\"248\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image039.png\" alt=\"QR code \" class=\"wp-image-5238\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image039.png 483w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image039-300x154.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 483px) 100vw, 483px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\">\n<li>Send the QR code to your respondents to access the questionnaire.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Printing paper questionnaires<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On the Collect tab there is the option to download the questionnaire in PDF format for you to print and send to your participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>From the <strong>Collect<\/strong> section navigate to the <strong>Settings <\/strong>side menu<strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll down to the<strong> Paper Interviews <\/strong>heading, if necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is a PDF download available for each paper edition in the survey.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the hyperlink for the edition you want. You must re-publish the updated questionnaire to ensure that the respondents are completing the latest version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\">\n<li>From the <strong>Collect<\/strong> section navigate to the <strong>Settings <\/strong>side menu<strong>.<\/strong>T<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>Overview<\/strong> heading shows a warning message when the questionnaire changes after the last publication. Click <strong>Pause interviewing<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once interviewing pauses you can see the <strong>Publish current version<\/strong> button. Click on the <strong>Publish current version<\/strong> button to publish the latest version of the questionnaire.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After you have published your survey\u2019s latest version, the message indicates that interviewing is using the most recent version of the survey.
