{"id":4296,"date":"2021-03-08T16:04:50","date_gmt":"2021-03-08T16:04:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/?post_type=epkb_post_type_1&#038;p=4296"},"modified":"2023-10-04T10:50:48","modified_gmt":"2023-10-04T09:50:48","slug":"making-surveys-anonymous","status":"publish","type":"epkb_post_type_1","link":"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/snapxmp\/making-surveys-anonymous\/","title":{"rendered":"Making surveys anonymous"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>   Snap XMP offers you various options to anonymise your survey data, such as, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>     running anonymous surveys with no personal data submitted to Snap XMP Online   <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n    running surveys that identify if a participant has responded but not linking them to their response\n  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n    removing identifiers from the data after collection so that further processing is on anonymised data only\n  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>   If you want your survey to remain anonymous: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\n    Don\u2019t ask participants for personally identifiable data including email address, name, postal address and phone numbers.\n  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>     Don\u2019t add a database of participants to your survey in Snap XMP Desktop or Snap XMP Online.   <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\n  To deploy your survey you can:\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\n    Put the link and\/or QR code for the survey in places where your participants will have access to it, for example your website, intranet or on posters\n  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n    Print a paper version and leave it in relevant places\n  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Finding the link and QR code for the survey <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>   Log in to <strong>Snap XMP Online<\/strong> and the first page shown is a summary of <strong>Your Work<\/strong>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\n  Click on your survey to show the <strong>Summary<\/strong> then click the <strong>Collect<\/strong> link.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"646\" height=\"419\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/collectsummary-png.png\" alt=\"Summary tab for the selected survey with Collect highlighted\" class=\"wp-image-4297\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/collectsummary-png.png 646w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/collectsummary-png-300x195.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 646px) 100vw, 646px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\">\n<li>\n  You will need to publish the survey, if it is not already published. For further information please see <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/snapxmp\/anonymising-data-after-carrying-out-your-survey\/\" target=\"_blank\">Anonymising data after carrying out your survey<\/a> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>   When you use Snap XMP Online to collect survey responses, it will not collect the participant\u2019s IP address in conjunction with the survey response. As explained in our Privacy Policy (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/survey-software\/privacy-policy-uk\/\"><em>https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/survey-software\/privacy-policy-uk\/<\/em><\/a>\u00a0) Snap Surveys separately records participant IP addresses and other technical information in its backend logs, which it deletes after no longer than 6 months.
