Once you have successfully logged in, the first page shown is your work summary where you can view your surveys, templates and folders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When you have finished, log out using the Logout <\/strong>button on the banner at the top of the page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
After logging in, the first page is split into two sections<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Your work, where you can see the surveys, folders and templates that are owned by you and that are shared with you by other users.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- an overview area where you can view the item that you have selected in the Your work area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
When you open the tool for the first time, you will see one supplied template, titled ONR NISCI Tool<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Managing the survey<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
In your work, click the survey link that you want to open. This shows a summary of the survey where you can see the status and the number of responses received. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Review\/Edit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
You can review and edit the information submitted in the set-up stage, and preview your online survey. When you’re happy with this, you can move onto the Collect responses<\/strong><\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Preview<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Previewing the published questionnaire lets you make sure the questionnaire works correctly by entering a number of test responses. These test responses will not be saved or affect the survey data responses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Click the Preview URL<\/strong> button. This opens the questionnaire in a new web browser tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- This starts with a notice that this is a survey preview and responses entered in the preview will not be saved and will not affect the survey results.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

- Click the message \u201dI understand \u2013 start the preview\u201d<\/strong> to proceed. The preview starts the questionnaire and you can enter some test responses to check your questionnaire. If you need to make any changes, you can rebuild the survey and repeat this process.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
Edit<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
To make changes to your survey, click the Rebuild survey<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This opens the NISCI Questionnaire Set-up Wizard. It is pre-filled with the information you submitted previously. Rebuild <\/strong><\/strong>mode lets you run through the set-up stage again and select different options (e.g. change the number of locations\/sites included or switch between the full, short, or super-short form of the survey). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collect Responses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
This section lets you start, pause, and stop your online survey, or schedule the start and end dates. You can also see the status of your online survey, and view your survey URL and QR code.
When you’re ready to view your results, move onto the Report <\/strong><\/strong>tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\nStatus<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
You can check the status of your online survey and the numbers of responses received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This section lets you schedule interviewing for your survey. You can use the date pickers to select the start and end dates for your online survey. The system will automatically start your survey on the Start interviewing<\/strong><\/strong> date and close it on the End interviewing<\/strong><\/strong> date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You can also start interviewing immediately by clicking the Start survey<\/strong> button. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When interviewing is live, you have the option to pause or stop interviewing by clicking the Pause survey <\/strong>or Stop survey<\/strong> buttons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Survey URL and QR code<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
This section contains the survey URL and QR code that your participants will use to complete the survey. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
When you are ready to collect responses, send the Survey URL<\/strong><\/strong> or QR code<\/strong><\/strong> to your participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Paper version<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
If you wish to send a printed version of the survey to your participants, click the Download pdf<\/strong> button to access the printable version of the survey. Print the required number of copies of the survey, and send or make accessible to your participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When you receive the paper responses, you will need to manually enter them into the dataset. You can do this via the Survey URL<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Report<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
There are up to two reports to help you analyse your organisation\u2019s results. The NISCI report is always available and the optional Comments report is available if you opted to add open-ended questions in the set-up. You can apply filters to your report to look at a specific area in more detail. You can view the filter information underneath the Run report<\/strong> and Run comments<\/strong> buttons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Run report<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Click on the Run report<\/strong><\/strong> button to run your NISCI report. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
You can run your report as many times as you like, including while you are still collecting responses. Each report you run will reflect the data received at the time of running, along with any filters that are applied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reports will open in a new window and can take up to 1-2 minutes to run. If it takes longer than 30 seconds to run your report, you’ll be shown a message explaining that your request is being dealt with, and the system will continue to generate your report in the background. If this happens, please wait another 1-2 minutes, then click on Run report<\/strong> again to view your report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Run comments<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Click on the Run comments<\/strong><\/strong> button to generate a report of responses to the open-ended questions that you added to your survey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This report is only available if you have included a comments question in the original set-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Apply filters<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
By default, the report will contain all data collected in your survey, but you can apply a filter to create filtered versions of your report. For example, you can run a report for a specific site or work area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You can view the filter information underneath the Run report<\/strong> and Run comments<\/strong> buttons.
To remove any filters currently applied to the report, select Clear all filters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\nClosing the survey<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
You can return to your work summary by clicking Close <\/strong>at the top of the page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When you have finished, log out using the Logout <\/strong>button on the banner at the top of the page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sharing a survey<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Collaboration between team members is possible using Shares<\/strong>, letting you share a survey with anyone who has an account on the ONR Tools server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You can share a survey that you own or have permission to share. When you share a survey, you give permission for that user to access the Report<\/strong> section of the survey, including running the report and applying the available filters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
How to share a survey<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

- In Your work<\/strong>, click the survey link that you want to share.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Select the Shares<\/strong> tab. This lists the users that have shared access to the survey.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

- There is one Permissions<\/strong> option available. The Share with analysis access only<\/strong> gives access to the Report<\/strong> section of the NISCI survey.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Leave the Filter<\/strong> and Context<\/strong> blank.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Set Enabled<\/strong> to Yes to enable user access to the shared survey. If you do not want to share the survey immediately, or you want to stop sharing the survey, then set Enabled<\/strong> to No.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Set Manage shares<\/strong> to No if you do not want to allow the user to share the survey with other account holders. Set Manage shares<\/strong> to Yes if you want the user to be able to share the survey with other ONR Tools server account users.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- When you have entered the user details, click Save<\/strong> to add the user. You can now see the new user in the Shares<\/strong> list.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

- Leave the Filter<\/strong> and Context<\/strong> blank.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- In the Add user<\/strong> dialog, enter the user\u2019s email address. This is the email address they use to access their ONR Tools server account.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
- Select the Shares<\/strong> tab. This lists the users that have shared access to the survey.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
- In Your work<\/strong>, click the survey link that you want to share.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- This starts with a notice that this is a survey preview and responses entered in the preview will not be saved and will not affect the survey results.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
- Click the Preview URL<\/strong> button. This opens the questionnaire in a new web browser tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Click Begin setup<\/strong> to start creating your NISCI survey.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Click the ONR NISCI Tool<\/strong> to open the NISCI tool setup.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Enter your email address and password then click the Log in<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
