An opt-out link in an email invitation lets your participants inform you that they do not want to receive further emails from you for this survey. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Importance of including opt-out links<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You should include an opt-out link in the majority of your email invitations and reminders. Many organisations, including, but not limited to: Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail, stipulate that you need an opt-out or unsubscribe link in business mailings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is good practice to include an opt-out link. You can add the link in the email invitation or reminder using the invitation editor<\/a>. With this option, you can customise the appearance and wording of the link. You can also select to automatically include an opt-our link. The email only includes the opt-out link if it does not already contain one, preventing multiple opt-out links in your email. When the email is sent the opt-out link is added to the footer of the email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may wish to exclude an opt-out link for in-house surveys or forms, where emails are only sent to participants that have emails belonging to your organisations domain, such as, an employee survey or audit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Setting the automatic opt-out link<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the survey invitation settings, there is an option to automatically add an opt-out link at the end of all email invitations where an opt-out has not been provided in the email body. This setting makes sure that you always provide an unsubscribe option for this survey. By default, an email invitation will automatically have an opt-out link included, unless you have already added your own opt-out link. We recommended adding the opt-out link in the invitation editor<\/a>, as you can then customise it here with your own wording and branding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. In the survey Summary<\/strong> tab, click the Collect<\/strong> link.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. In the Collect<\/strong> tab, select Participants<\/strong> from the side menu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Click the Change Invitation Settings<\/strong> button to open the Invitation settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Select Automatically add opt-out<\/strong> to add an opt-out link at the end of the email invitation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
