In this example, the survey can be accessed from three websites: Snap Surveys, Facebook and Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This allows you to capture which link the participant used, so you can track the participants&#8217; engagement on each platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1: Creating a variable to capture the seeded data.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Create a variable to capture the data you want to collect. This example uses an Open Ended Literal variable, but you can also use a coded single choice variable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Change the name of the variable to something that helps you recognise it easily. Do this by right-clicking on the variable, then selecting <strong>Variable Properties<\/strong>. To do this simply right click on the variable, then select <strong>Hide Variable<\/strong>. The participant cannot view a hidden variable, but the questionnaire uses the data behind the scenes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When the questionnaire is ready, you can publish it, which creates the survey URL in Snap Online. You can find out more about publishing your survey <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/snapxmp\/publishing-and-collecting-survey-data\/\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2: Creating the URL for each website.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log in to Snap Online.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the survey and open the Collect tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the Collect tab, you will find the Interview URL.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"864\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/word-image-11355-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11357\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/word-image-11355-2.png 864w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/word-image-11355-2-300x141.png 300w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/word-image-11355-2-768x360.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 864px) 100vw, 864px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\">\n<li>Copy the URL using the Copy button, then paste it into a text editor, such as Notepad or Microsoft Word.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To make a unique link for each website the questionnaire can be accessed, you need to add some code to the end of the URL. This code is: ?VariableName=Data<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Replace the \u2018VariableName\u2019 with the name of the variable you want to seed data into. Replace \u2018Data\u2019 with the data you want seed. In this example, there are three websites being used, so you need to seed the words \u2018Facebook\u2019, \u2018Twitter\u2019 or \u2018Snap Surveys\u2019 into the variable called Website in the survey. The links created are:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Facebook: <a href=\"https:\/\/online1.snapsurveys.com\/199hgw?Website=Facebook\">https:\/\/online1.snapsurveys.com\/199hgw?Website=Facebook<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Twitter: <a href=\"https:\/\/online1.snapsurveys.com\/199hgw?Website=Twitter\">https:\/\/online1.snapsurveys.com\/199hgw?Website=Twitter<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Snap Surveys: <a href=\"https:\/\/online1.snapsurveys.com\/199hgw?Website=Snap%20Surveys\">https:\/\/online1.snapsurveys.com\/199hgw?Website=Snap%20Surveys<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Publish these links onto the relevant websites, each link takes the participant to the same questionnaire. The questionnaire captures the website information within their response, and you analyse this to check your engagement for each platform.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that because Snap Surveys is two words, you need to use the HTML code for a space. This is %20.
