In online editions, the page size determines which edition is displayed on a device, letting you produce adaptive questionnaires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the&nbsp;<strong>Questionnaire&nbsp;<\/strong>window, change to the edition for the required output, for example, Paper, Phone or PC\/Laptop.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Questionnaire Properties&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" alt=\"QuestionnairePropsIcon.png\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/questionnairepropsicon-png-2.png\">&nbsp;to open the&nbsp;<strong>Questionnaire Properties<\/strong>&nbsp;dialog.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In Section, select the&nbsp;<strong>Page&nbsp;<\/strong>section.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In online editions, in <strong>Width<\/strong>, enter the screen width of the device you want this edition to display. The screen width will be different if the device in held in landscape and portrait mode, so choose the appropriate value. Alternatively, select a standard screen size in the drop-down.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In paper editions, in <strong>Width<\/strong> and <strong>Height<\/strong>, enter the page width and height you want to print this edition on. Alternatively, select a standard paper size in the drop-down.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>OK<\/strong>&nbsp;to save your changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If the questionnaire will be used on a specific devices then you can test the questionnaire works as expected on that device. Often, participants will use a variety of devices and you will need to test on a number of different sized devices to ensure the layout of each edition is correct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that if you change the page size for one edition, it may affect which of the other questionnaires is delivered to a device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding a picture to the background<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Snap Surveys provides a range of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/resources\/survey-images\/backgrounds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">background images for surveys<\/a> that you can download and use in your surveys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select&nbsp;<strong>Background<\/strong>&nbsp;in the topic drop-down.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the next drop-down, select the area to apply the background. To apply the background to the entire question, select&nbsp;<strong>(All)<\/strong>. To apply the background to the all pages, select&nbsp;<strong>(Page)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the&nbsp;<strong>Picture<\/strong>&nbsp;button. This displays the&nbsp;<strong>Picture&nbsp;<\/strong>dialog.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select a picture from the file name drop-down or click&nbsp;<strong>Browse<\/strong>&nbsp;to browse for the picture file. The picture path name is shown in the drop-down. Click&nbsp;<strong>Remove&nbsp;<\/strong>to clear the picture.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"314\" height=\"389\" src=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Picture.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11091\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Picture.png 314w, https:\/\/www.snapsurveys.com\/support-snapxmp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Picture-242x300.png 242w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 314px) 100vw, 314px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"5\">\n<li>You can align the picture horizontally using the&nbsp;<strong>Horizontal&nbsp;<\/strong>drop-down, with Left, Centre and Right options. You can align the picture vertically using the&nbsp;<strong>Vertical&nbsp;<\/strong>drop-down, with Top, Centre, Bottom options.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The area assigned for the selected part of the question determines the size of the picture. For an online edition you can select&nbsp;<strong>Tile&nbsp;<\/strong>or&nbsp;<strong>Fixed<\/strong>&nbsp;to repeat or fix the image. For a paper edition you can select&nbsp;<strong>Stretch&nbsp;<\/strong>or&nbsp;<strong>Fit&nbsp;<\/strong>to resize the image or&nbsp;<strong>Tile&nbsp;<\/strong>and&nbsp;<strong>Zoom&nbsp;<\/strong>to repeat or scale the image. This can be done both horizontally and vertically.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If available, you can colourize the GIF file by selecting a color from the drop-down.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Zoom&nbsp;<\/strong>and enter a percentage value to resize the image in the background.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>OK&nbsp;<\/strong>to save the changes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using a picture with a background<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If the background uses a color and a picture, the color shows in areas where the picture does not fill the space.
