During the dashboard design, you can keep track of the changes made by using the history. This lets you go back to previous versions of the dashboard within the current session.

Loading a previous version

  1. Open the survey and click on the Dashboard link in the Summary tab.
  2. Click on the dashboard that you want to edit.
  1. Click on the History properties menu. This displays a list of all the dashboard versions available. The tick identifies the last saved version of the dashboard.
  1. Click on a link in the list to open the dashboard version at the timestamp. You can edit this version and save the changes to the dashboard.

This is currently only available to beta-testers.

Sometimes as you are working you may make a mistake. You can use the Undo function to undo your last action editing the questionnaire. Redo allows you to redo the previously undone action.

The Undo and Redo buttons are located on the Dashboard toolbar.

Undo

Click the Undo button to cancel your last action. The Undo count will decrease by 1 and the Redo count will increase by 1. When the Undo count is 0 the Save button is greyed out.

There are some actions that you cannot undo, such as saving the questionnaire.

Redo

Click the Redo button to redo the previously undone action. The Redo count will decrease by 1 and the Undo count will increase by 1.

History

If you wish to load a previous version, the history contains links that you can use to load a specific version of the dashboard.

When you no longer need a widget, such as an out-of-date table or chart, you can easily remove it.

  1. Select the dashboard that you want to edit.
  1. Select the widget item, such as a table or chart, that you want to delete.
  2. In the editor bar at the top, click the arrow to show the menu.
  1. Click Delete. This removes the widget from the dashboard.

To cancel a deletion, click Undo on the dashboard editor panel.

When you want to add a number of the same or similar analyses, you can clone a widget to quickly create multiple similar elements to the dashboard.

  1. Select the dashboard that you want to edit.
  1. Select the widget item, such as a table or chart, that you want to clone.
  2. In the editor bar at the top, click the arrow to show the menu.
  1. Click Clone. This adds a copy of the widget underneath the original.
  2. Edit the settings and resize the widget, as required.

  1. Click the Rename menu item. This opens the Rename dashboard dialog.
  2. In New name, enter the new dashboard name and click the Rename button.

Copying or cloning an existing dashboard helps you create new dashboards quickly and easily.

  1. Open the survey and click on the Dashboard link in the Summary tab.
  2. In the list of dashboards, click on the arrow next to the dashboard that you want to edit. This displays the actions menu.
  1. Click the Clone menu item. This opens the Clone dashboard dialog.
  2. In New name, enter the name for the new dashboard and click the Clone button.

This creates the new dashboard and adds it to the list of available dashboards. The cloned dashboard opens in the dashboard editor.

When you clone a dashboard, the dashboard properties are also copied, including the Available to viewers option. If you do not want to share the new dashboard immediately, make sure you turn off the Available to viewers option.

When you have completed the dashboard design, you are ready to make the dashboard available to shared users.

Sharing the dashboard

The users that can view the dashboard must have:

  • a Snap XMP Online account
  • access to share the survey
  • the View dashboard permission set on their account

Set available to shared viewers

  1. Open the survey and click on the Dashboard link in the Summary tab.
  2. Click on the dashboard that you want to edit.
  3. Click on the Dashboard properties menu.
  1. Select the Available to viewers checkbox to make the dashboard available to the users who you have shared the survey with.
  2. If you wish to revoke sharing, clear the Available to viewers checkbox.

You can easily see which dashboards are available to viewers in the Dashboards list.

A shared dashboard is shown by the icon:

A dashboard only available to the owner is shown by the icon:
